The Schooling of Sarah Palin continues in New York City

Apparently, Ms. Palin will be adding a new country to her infamous international travel resume next week, New York City. According to Reuters, Senator McCain plans to take Ms. Palin with him to the United Nations in order “to boost the Alaska governor’s foreign policy credentials.”

I am pretty sure that the United Nations diplomats and staff are having a good laugh over Senator McCain’s latest homeschooling project coming into town.

It takes chutzpah for Senator McCain to tell the voters that Sarah Palin will be qualified to conduct international affairs once she has a chance to shake hands with the world leaders. Apparently, Senator McCain believes that Ms. Palin will be able to develop foreign affairs expertise from visual contacts with international heads of state? Or could it be that Senator McCain believes the voters are clueless enough to believe in his shell games?

It is one thing for Senator McCain to jettison his dignity and integrity in his presidential campaign, but it is another when he embarrasses the American public and makes a mockery of the dignity of visiting world leaders by foisting his running mate on them for mind-melding moments. This is not the kind of judgment that reassures the public on the conduct of American foreign policies in an increasingly complex world politics.

We, the people deserve a leadership that will bring respect to the seat of an American presidency.
