McCain-Palin's Not So Straight Talk

Is it me, or do the governor of Alaska and the senator of Arizona appear to believe that if they repeat falsehood often enough and it will become their version of the truth? Don't they realize that in 2008 when all a person has to do is to search online about their assertions and claims? Do they think that their combined personalities will somehow outweigh the facts based on research, public records, and news resources? Don't they remember that there are serious problems in our country that need feasible and realistic solutions?

It is revealing in an extremely disturbing way about the character and the moral compass of two people when they can’t seem to tell the difference between lies and the truth. These two candidates are applying for their jobs from the American public.

It is appalling that Governor Palin blithely justifies several of her earmarks to Mr. Charles Gibson during her interview including a study on the mating habit of crabs as a non-earmark. Her reason is simply because her request isn’t done behind closed doors. Worse yet, Senator McCain continues to tout her bridge-to-nowhere as a yardstick of her "spotless record of anti-earmarks." He further emphasizes that Ms. Palin has never asked for earmarks. He must not have checked her public records recently. These examples highlight some of the McCain-Palin’s total disregard of the public’s intelligence, political knowledge, and moral compass of what is right and wrong, i.e. truth and lies.

What else are these people lying about and what false promises are they spouting on the campaign trail? These are legitimate questions that any voter should ask her/himself about the presidential candidates. We, the American voters deserve verifiable answers and logical explanations to their actions or lack thereof.
